OpenLab Collaborative Research Center

Home » Research Center

Founded in 2010 by Art Professor Jennifer Parker with support from Astrophysics Professor Enrico Rameriz-Ruiz, to serve the campus community for networking, research, resource-sharing, exhibitions, talks, and events in collaborative interdisciplinary research.

As a faculty-led center, Parker is dedicated to pursuing, promoting, and serving interdisciplinary innovation in the arts, sciences, and technology. Our projects shift the focus from industrial machines, computers, and robots to people and ecosystems. This use of technologies across disciplines forces us to decide how we, as humans, want to experience our creative strivings and work for the public good to help redirect and understand the negative consequences of unsustainable innovation and the direct costs to the planet.
